The state of and prospects for the development of the ICT sector of Republic of Tatarstan
(study conducted JSC “Cominfo Consulting” in the period from December 2005 to February 2006, the project was implemented with the support of companies Sun Microsystems and IBM)

The study was attended by 101 business 11 – ty sectors of the economy of the 10 cities in the republic of Tatarstan.

The focus of the research process was put on a survey of medium and large enterprises RT. As representatives of the respondents were responsible for ICT: CIO, IT director of business leaders IT services, as well as their deputies.

The study, revenues from the ICT sector in Tajikistan amounts to about 27 billion rubles. (about 970 million.) per year, corresponding to about 3% of total revenue in the ICT sector RF. This figure also equals the percentage of GRP Tatarstan in the Russian Federation GRP.

Gosregulirovanie the ICT sector in the republic carries out profile information and the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The rate of growth of the ICT sector of Republic of Tatarstan quite high, up to 25-27% in 2006, however, this occurs mainly from IT and product (hardware and software) components.

Based on the findings, made the following recommendations for businesses and RT for local suppliers of ICT products and solutions RT.

RT Enterprises:
– Improving the status of IT services in the enterprise (marketing IT, “Timing” business and IT, the definition and justification of the value of IT)
– Insorsing IT functions of enterprises in the form of centralized IT services companies to improve the efficiency of IT
– Development of IT strategy, paired with the strategy of development of the enterprise / business
– Definition of IT resources: key to business development expertise and outsourcing other functions IT
– Service Organization IT services, IT development finance a separate line (customer service, project office, ITIL / ITSM and so.)

Suppliers ICT RT:
– Capacity expertise introduction of integrated corporate IT solutions, increased intellectual component solutions
– Increase supply and improving the quality of IT services with high added value
– Joining forces in the development of ICT market RT, including:
– Creation of the Republican platform to discuss issues and market promotion (Association, techno, the conference…)
– Increased market transparency (information, market analyst…)
