Results: «Kaspersky Labs»

On the domestic market sales increased by 150%, and corporate – to 45%. More than half of revenue last year, the company received in the corporate sector – 52%, the share of revenue from sales of personal products was 48%. A year earlier, the relationship between business and the Retail segment was 62/38. 

«Despite the difficult economic situation, the past year has been very successful for us, and financial performance is clearly confirmed», – said Kondakov. He added that the company has even exceeded the plan. «If it were not for the devaluation of the ruble, our growth in Russia would be measured to three significant», – he stressed. According Kondakova, «Laboratory» failed to demonstrate good results in all regions of the world. Global sales in 2008 amounted to 361 million, which is 78% higher than in 2007 In Europe, the company sold products to 184 million (+67%) in the region EEMEA revenues amounted to 91 million USD (+95%), in America – 60 million (+90%), Asia-Pacific region – 24 million (+69%). 

At 45% increased the total number of employees. At the end of last year in the «Lab» 1250 employed persons. The company has long occupied a strong position in the world market, but in 2008, as Kondakov, «carried out a notable leap forward in terms of globalization». Less than a year, the number of local offices has increased by one third, opened offices in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Australia, the Middle East and South-East Asia. Already this year there were offices in Canada, Switzerland and Austria. «Of the 15 top managers of companies, only 8 – the citizens of Russia. Others – are representatives of other countries », – he said. 

Intensive growth of business «Kaspersky Labs» contributed to good development of Russia’s partner network. The total number of authorized partners has more than 50%, up to 3 thousand organizations. This has been achieved 120% case growth in the regions. Not least the role played by active players and vendor sales channel. In the past year, with the latter and with the support of «Laboratory» was held over 150 presentations, seminars and conferences in 60 cities in the country. 

At present, the representation of companies operate in five federal districts: Southern (Volgograd), Northwestern (St. Petersburg), Volga (Kazan), Urals (Ekaterinburg) and Siberia (Novosibirsk). 

Also last year, created the office, responsible for business development in Russia and the Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan). «Until the middle of 2008, our operations in the former Soviet Union were« smeared », – explained Harry Kondakov. – There was a region called the «Russia, CIS and Baltic countries». But then we moved to a better regional division based on geographic and economic realities. We identified four regions: Russia and the Caucasus, a region BOUM (Belarus, Ukraine and Moldavia); STAN region (former Soviet Central Asian republics and Mongolia), the Baltic countries. Customers decisions «Kaspersky Labs» in the past year, have become big businesses and government entities, including the Federal Revenue Service (the organization received 120 thousand licenses), Federal Customs Service, the Bank of Russia, Sberbank, Uralsvyazinform, Rosenergoatom, MDM-Bank etc. 

Referring to data research company ROMIR, the «Laboratory» stated that among users of licensed anti-virus 47% of respondents prefer their products. This is two times higher than the nearest competitor. 

«This year will be difficult, but nevertheless we expect the growth of the business – said Gary Kondakov. – Plans for the company have remained unchanged: the release of new versions of personal and corporate products solutions for mobile devices, opening new regional offices and further strengthening our position in the Russian and international markets ».
